Each vessel is made by hand and is one of a kind, so please allow for variation within the material and from piece to piece. This piece should be treated with care. This vessel is glazed on the inside and will hold water, though due to the semi porous nature of the stoneware, some sweating or condensation may occur on the bottom of the piece.

OATMEAL is the studio practice of Elise Birnbaum. Located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, OATMEAL was an idea birthed from a meeting between friends to eat oatmeal and talk about making things. Elise’s current body of work draws inspiration from gardens in the Japanese countryside and focuses on sculptural, biomorphic shapes and vessels that are found in nature. Elise’s work continues to evolve, taking influence from human form and brutalist architecture.
